I like Number 7 as a start.
     Should the hats be a different color than the bodies?

What about the circle of friends with a 5 point star in the middle?

How about simply "Texas-Ubuntu.org"? It would serve multiple purposes
in short order:
*  Texas is first
*  It advertises the website.
*  The ".org" emphasizes the community and non-commercial nature of
   our group.
*  The dimensions would be about right for a bumper sticker.
