JVLB UEFI Problem

I posted an update, based on some test installs this week on the same
model machine that James' friend has. The quick summary is that it works
fine when I wipe the machine and install Ubuntu, so it's not an
incompatibility with UEFI. It's just an old-fashioned problem with
partitioning and bootloaders, made more complicated by the fact that
Windows has only partially transitioned over to UEFI.
