[Ubuntu-US-NM] Got a request to help

I seem to recall seeing several thread on the Ubuntu forum about this 
issue which has to do with the Video Driver for the GeForce 7000.

Have you tried booting to the Live CD in SAFE Graphic's mode?  If not 
try that...

Otherwise I would try to install using the Ubuntu 7.10 Alternate CD...

Read this thread....

 Download the "alternate"  iso.

http://mirror.cc.columbia.edu/pub/linux/ubuntu/releases/gutsy/ubuntu-7.10-alternate-i386.iso

You'll need to Install in Text or Safe Graphics mode.   Once installed 
you'll need to download the NVIDIA Drivers for linux.
