Hi,

Thanks in advance for the assistance. I currently have Vista on my laptop.

Aspire 5520-5912
AMD Turlon 64x2 Mobile Technology
NVIDIA GeForce 7000M
Signal Up Wireless
160GB HD

I don't want Vista. I just don't like it. I really want to get away from 
Microsoft and go totally to Linux Ubuntu. I created the CD from the iso 
file and I checked the install CD and no errors. I'm trying to install the 
64 bit version 7.10, but I'm getting the HAL Status 13 message. If anyone 
needs output like using 'dmesg', let me know how to get this for you for 
troubleshooting and I will.
