[ubuntu-us-nm] Hardy and screen resolution

I upgraded to hardy with my external 17" monitor.  When I am at work, I
use a 25" widescreen at 1920x1200.  Right now I am running 1280x1024 on
the 25".

I cannot get the resolution right.  I have tried the usual by adjusting
the Screen Resolution in Preferences and the usual variants of "sudo
dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg" which does not seem to work in
Hardy.  

I searched the web but found no solutions.

Any ideas how to fix this.
