[ubuntu-us-mn] DNS problem with Ubuntu 10.04?

It is hard to say what's going on without seeing the DNS entries.

If your system is set to get an address by DHCP, then it likely gets DNS
settings the same way. The default is likely to be your wireless router;
probably 192.168.0.1.

I'd change the DNS settings on both the system (and the router, if
possible, to:
8.8.8.8 and
8.8.4.4

These are the addresses for the Google Public DNS service. It is free &
offers much lower address resolution times (which is a good thing) that the
DNS service from most ISPs. Especially given that you're running over a
wireless service, anything that can be done which will reduce latency will
help you.
