[ubuntu-us-mn] How to contribute

Hello,
I am new to this group and new to open-source also. I would like to 
contribute to some of the developments that we are doing at Minneapolis 
Local Team.I would like to start with some bug fixing initially so that 
I will get the feeling of the things. How much one needs to contribute 
..I mean how much time one has to give for the activities in the local team.

I am University of Minnesota ,Twin Cities student and currently pursuing 
my Ph.D. in Computer Science.
