Silly me, I was looking at an old article which reflected my
experience of Unity on Oneric Ocelot, and an older opinion.

I'm currently playing around on a Live CD while I do some hard drive
maintenance before installing Precise Pangolin and indeed, *there are
options for sidebar behavior there.

I'm going to try having it Auto-hide, and only reveal the Launcher
when I hit the lop left corner of the screen.

I usually invoke it from the keyboard anyways, and I predict this
should make for good app real estate (I'm usually full screen anyhow,
and I dig the borderless full-fullscreen look especially, as a
command-line geek, for the terminal!) without costing me much
functionality. It's still a little weird, but I'll play with it and
see what happens.

Hope this finds everyone having a beautiful day!

Simón
