I appreciate the support. It's nice to be reminded of the role I used to play.
I don't feel like I've been an acceptable LoCo Contact, and don't mind
the thought of handing (read:pushing off) control (read:work) to a
more active and driven individual.
On the other hand, I'm not leaving; I just could be more active at
this point in my life as a participant than as an organizer. I think
Michael probably feels similarly.
There was some interest raised as to having a gathering—many on
channels outside of this mailing list, who didn't even know we were
having a release party, and who I'm sending out a memo to inviting
them to join the mailing list (that "contact this team's e-mail
address" channel is not very conducive to conversations).
I think the last flurry of e-mail communication raised this as a
worthwhile topic to explore:
We've been having release parties as a tradition, and because we're
asked to by the larger community, but that doesn't stop us from having
other meetings.
What sorts of gatherings/events would people be interested in having?
hosting? attending?
