hire a different team if they expect to produce anything but crap.
nVidia's drivers are a million times better, but still not great. It
seems to be hit and miss depending on the card and the version of their
drivers you try.

Type "medibuntu repositories" in Google and follow the instructions to
enable them. You need to install win32codecs and dvdcss2. I don't know about
other sources for the deb file, I'd try searching for it by file name in
Google.

I loaded the codex after totem launched and asked when i put a DVD
movie in my dvd player, an ASUS DRW-1814BLT. But, it says it still
could not play the movie due to codex. Is there another program to
view DVD movies with that has better codex stuff?

Thanks

I don't see it in my repositories, but found a download link to a Debian
package here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/23828509/gimpshop_2.2.11-1_i386.deb

It doesn't seem like the developer is primarily targeting Linux, as he
mentions Mac OS X and Windows first and links to another site for the Debian
compilation. I've had mixed results with Debian packages downloaded from the
net but at least they're easy to uninstall if they don't work.

A side note... Photoshop is cool, and I've been using it heavily for about
a decade, but the more I use GIMP the more I like it. It's not perfect and
Photoshop does some things better, but I'm just saying don't be afraid to
try GIMP out like it is. You can assign key bindings to pretty much
anything, so you can work extremely efficiently once you have your main
commands/tools/etc. set up properly.
