Sorry for being confusing. Yes, it's this Saturday, 28 April. Thanks for even considering coming and helping, Kevin.

OK, things are looking good for a Saturday release event here at Chelsea School (711 Pershing Drive, Silver Spring, MD).

I'm losing track: THIS Saturday or further off? If this Saturday, PLEASE somebody else help: I'm already double-booked: (1) DC Government Community Broadband Summit in Anacostia, and (2) USA Science and Engineering Festival (POSSIBLY with Gallaudet students in attendance). My apologies for being so disorganized.

I *might* in a pinch be able to run off some hand-burned CD's tomorrow but as luck would have it, there's an Internet 2 meeting in town, and a collaborator from RIT who is in town for it asked for an impromptu meeting tomorrow. So, I'm suddenly busy tomorrow as well.

Planned:
Screening of Revolution OS for background noiseAll Precise versions available for exploration (I don't expect to have very many workstations - but I do have Remmina and plenty of virtualization tech).A wide variety of other distros; from Commodore OS (Ubuntu based) to CentOS to Bodhi to Solaris. Again, no workstations but plenty of virtual machines to choose from for anyone with remote client apps.Snacks: Our junior class is rallying to have lanparty type snacks for sale. Cheesy Poofs and Snacky Cakes, Red Bull and Coffee drinks. And colas and water.I"m burning 32bit Ubuntu as quickly as I can. I have 4 32-bit USB drives for install. At least one instructor besides me to talk about assistive and ed tech at Chelsea School (we serve many students with language-based learning differences).

Wow! I should blow off stuff to show up!

I have heard from a person as far off as Ohio that intends to come. But I've really only heard from three people in all, one from this list. I have questions; I hope they match your answers.

How many people is smart to plan for?

I've promoted via Byte Back, Facebook, wiki.ubuntu, Twitter, and Tumblr. Any other ideas?

Is anyone interested in helping spread the word?

Volunteers: 12-5:30

Public invited: 2 - 4:45

Thanks everyone for the supportive and kind encouragement,

Rik Goldman
