[DC LoCo] Linux Networks

I'm a simple user of Ubuntu 10.04, but Im looking to setup a network
for a school in Haiti and would like to know if there is something
like a book for Dummy's to help me get through the fundimentals of
this.  Security and manageability have to be straightforward. I will
be playing with this on my systems for a while, until I understand it.
 Any pointers would be helpful.
