Hi ubuntistas,
I'm doing some volunteer computer consulting for Bread for the City, a
major social service agency in DC. Bread for the City recently received
50 donated computers without an operating system on them. I'm
suggesting to them that Linux is the most sensible way to proceed.
They've asked me to make a presentation to their staff, which I'm only
too happy to do. I'm going to take down my Core2Duo Dell laptop with
Linux Mint 11 on it -- but I'd also like to show them Lucid Puppy
running on a real old computer.
I have some old computers at my house and Lucid Puppy runs great as a
live cd. I haven't able to successfully install Lucid Puppy to hard
drive because the GRUB installation gets a bit complicated.
Just curious if anyone here on the list has Lucid Puppy installed on
an old computer that I could borrow for my presentation? I would need
to have TuxType also installed on that computer as well as Chromium
(or Google Chrome) and Opera 10.5 or Opera 11.
Thanks for contacting me off-list if you're able to help. The email
subject line should say: Lucid Puppy so that I don't accidentally
miss seeing your email.
I can swing by to pick up your computer and will return it after
the presentation. The presentation is not scheduled yet, but it
might be the end of this week or sometime next week.
Phil
