[DC LoCo] Install Problem

Well, WINE has really improved as of late. It can run a lot of the
modern games and handles Steam really well. So, I wanted to test 11.04
on my gaming rig to see if I can finally ditch Windows XP altogether.
Problem is, I can't get the installer to work.

When Ubuntu tries to start I get errors and a kernel panic concerning
the CPU. I can't recall ALL of the error messages I get but one of
them stood out. "No human readable MCE data". Then a slew of nueavu
error messages. In a way I'm not really all that surprised by this,
but its still annoying. My friend built this system 5 years ago as a
gaming rig. It cost him $5,000 at the time, and he used all Bleeding
Edge technology. Every component from the CPU, motherboard, RAM and
even the video cards were all fresh from the manufacturer.

Here's the specs according to CPU-Z...
Motherboard: ASUS A8N32-SLI Delux w/Nvidia nForce4 MCP chipset,
American Megatrends BIOS
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4800+ @ 2.4GHz, Codename "Toledo"
RAM: 2GB, Corsair PC3200
GPU: (2) Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX, 512MB RAM (each), SLI-Enabled, 16x PCI-E

Any suggestions. This system cannot run Windows 7 without significant
upgrades, and I frankly would like to avoid doing that for a while.
I'd prefer running Ubuntu instead, but I can't get the kernel to boot
during the install.
