May be I'm missing something here, but if it's a good deal, and it's resellable, then why the need for multiple partners to buy it and resell it?

hi ubuntistas,

this looks like a pretty nice refurbished laptop for installing ubuntu on.

the thought occurred to me a minute ago that a few of us could pool
our funds to buy this laptop and sell it at cost on dc.craigslist.org

i'm good for chipping in $50. and i can donate $10 towards a memory
upgrade of 512 MB. http://tinyurl.com/yl8luxx

the pooled funds would be returned to each of the four parties
after the laptop is sold.

i see ground shipping would come to $14 -- so that cost would need to be
distributed, too.
