But of course! What else would you give them? My step-father was *completely* new to computers. His first computer ever was a Dapper box which I have finally replaced with a newer machine running Hardy.
Ubuntu is easy to use. It doesn't get spyware or viruses. It has been great for him (and for me, since I'm the guy he calls if he has any problems).
