[DC LoCo] Anyone know of artists/musicians bent towards open source?

The Gallaudet Daily Digest recently had a post about the upcoming 
Art-O-Matic (http://www.artomatic.org/) event:

It seems to me that perhaps some wild & crazy idea with kids doing 
collaborative artwork/music on XO's or something...  I'm not even sure what 
exactly I'm thinking of, but wanted to see if it would spark anyone else's 
creativity...
