At least under gnome-terminal you can also highlight/right click and
choose copy and this does use a paste buffer. At least doing it this way
I can copy some text (like a URL) and then highlight text in the browser
address widget and then right click/paste and the text is replaced.
There is still some interaction between this paste buffer and others as
I occasionally forget which way I've copied text and get the wrong thing
pasted :)
