I prefer the text based installer too. My first Ubuntu/Linux install
was from a text based install disk.
On another note... the live-cd now had an install option OR the
live-cd. It's not quite like the text installer on the alternate
install discs, but at least it makes it faster to install if that's
the only cd you have on hand.
