Jim,
You may know of it, but there's Gnumeric:
http://www.gnome.org/projects/gnumeric/faq.shtml
Other than that I don't know of any "easy" ones. Python has modules that do
kick butt graphics, and R can also, but those are programming languages and
not a short-term plan.
I don't mean to sound rude at all, but 3d bar graphs are somewhat frowned on
and considered tacky in college science courses, even though you see them
everywhere in popular media. Here's a style guide:
http://www.physics.csbsju.edu/stats/display.html
I did notice, also, on the Gnumeric page that their example bar graph was
2d:

Here's a funny discussion of Microsoft's Access 2007 printing out 3d graphs
as a default. I can't view any of the "solutions", though, as I'm not a
premium member:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/Development/MS_Access/Q_22740215.html
Don't you hate how so many of these "expert's" forums show you the question
and then try to make you pay to see the "expert's" solutions? That's a
trend on the net that has overstayed its welcome....
Good luck
Richard
