[CoLoCo] Ubuntu Education Week or something similar

We've talked before about install-fests and other types of advocacy events
but so far I don't think many or any have come to fruition. At the FC
meeting last week we discussed the idea of a week long event in various
locals around the state where we demo Ubuntu, pass out CDs and help people
wanting to install. The working title was Ubuntu Education Week since we
would be educating people about Ubuntu. That does not have to be the title.
So far, there has been minimal response to this. Is that because people are
not interested, not sure what it's about or just too busy with other things?
The whole idea is still open to discussion. If there are a couple people in
each major population center around the state (CS, Denver, north, west, etc)
that would be willing to help develop the idea, I will help coordinate.
Perhaps we could discuss it more at the hardy party, but that might be too
late to try and plan something for early summer. It could be later but as
close to the hardy release as possible, based on when we can get pressed
CDs, seems best.
Any takers? Feedback?
