UniForum Linux Meetup Group is proud to have Lou Dasaro present JavaFX,
Scene Builder, Hibernate and Databases

Abstract: JavaFX is the next step in the evolution of Java as a rich client
platform, shortening development time and easing deployment of data-driven
business and enterprise client applications. JavaFX provides a rich set of
UI controls, graphics and media API with high-performance
hardware-accelerated graphics and media engines to simplify development of
immersive visual applications.

In this session, Lou Dasaro will introduce JavaFX software development
using JavaFX Scene Builder 1.1 for Linux, the visual development tool for
the JavaFX platform that generates FXML.Dasaro will walk through the
integrated workflow between Scene Builder and the IDE, examine the
injection of variables associated with the UI controls, and tie them to a
relational database (containing media elements) using Hibernate.

Bio: Lou Dasaro is a independent software developer, principal at Postefx,
and organizer of the Chicago JavaFX User Group on Meetup.com He has been
working with the Early Access / Developer Previews of Netbeans 7.3 and
JavaFX Scene Builder for Linux since they first became available (last
year). Dasaro has worked in the computer industry for over twenty years,
and has consulted to AT&T (most of the baby Bells), CME/CBOT, CIT, IBM,
GTE, Motorola, and others. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin
at Whitewater.
