Micah,
I am a board member of UniForum Chicago, an open computing enthusiast group:

http://www.meetup.com/UniForum-Chicago/
I personally am a great Linux enthusiast.
We meet rm 102 at Illinois Institute of Technology in Wheaton, Illinois.
I propose the possibility of hosting this event on Tuesday, April 24th,
granted slightly before the release however just enough ahead of time that
perhaps you and/or some others would be willing to talk on it.
Our meetings generally run from 7-9 pm and adjorn to Cozymell's around the
corner for a more casual get together after the meeting.
We can to the promo on the event through our website and meetup site.
Perhaps you would be interested in doing a presentation on the new 12.04?
Let me know,
