Jim, your suggestion sounds great for an after-event get together, but if our purpose is to promote Linux, you have just excluded anyone under 21 and anyone that might feel uncomfortable coming to a bar. Yes, there are such folk out there, even amongst the Linux community.

Other than the suggestion I already put out, I can't think of another off the top of my head, but it should be someplace that anyone can come to, and it should, if possible, be a location that people would relate to computer tech. And, it should be a location that would showcase Ubuntu in a positive light in the press!

Save the kegger party for later. ;-)

Any alternate ideas for a location? The IIT space is not available.
I was thinking maybe the upstairs room at Sully's Tap House [0], as
that is what ChiPy has used somewhat recently, but I'm not sure what
kind of a deal they get. Maybe we could work something out with them
(their site says they charge $$$) if we were going to be there from
11:00-5:00 or something. They have a great setup for being able to
show presentations, & that time wouldn't be during their peak hours.
