[Ubuntu Chicago] HP P1006 printer won't print

Anybody have an P100x series printer working with Ubuntu?  I just bought a P1006, and it just won't print.  I think I have it correctly setup (the hp-* commands can see and recognize the printer, and I installed packages that hp-check said were needed), but documents just get processed don't print...

It also seems these cheap printers don't have a way to print a test page by themselves like the more expensive models.
