This is your wireless card:
auto wlan0
iface wlan0 inet dhcp
This means you use DHCP, and you should have been ok. I suspect it was as
Randy stated and you didnt accept the terms or do whatever the hotel wanted
you to do. You stated it was unencrypted so there wasnt any WPA issues.
