Subject: Re: [Ubuntu Chicago] Group Meeting
Unfortunately, I have a commitment that day.
I would like very much to be a part of the next meeting to
discuss the film project and bring my friend who does the infomercials.
On another note, the company I work for has a very small office
in Chicago, but we are getting a new one in about 3 months a scant two
block walk away from Union station. They use and program all of their
solutions in open source. Most of us are Linux users (we got a Mac guy)
and it is a split between Ubuntu and gentoo. Anyway, I told them about
the Ubuntu Chicago Team and the fact that we are traveling gypsies (like
I know, I have yet to attend a meeting). Anyway, once we move, meetings
may be held in our office provided that they are in the evenings.
BTW, happy anniversary and thank you for being a party to my
converting from Linspire to Ubuntu. ;)

Hey Chicago!
OK, Ubuntu Chicago is 1 year old this week, today
actually maybe.
Alright, it is time for a meeting/get together. This
meeting will cover
advocational ideas and resources. Once I have guaranteed
that people will
show up, then I will create the Wiki page for us to add
agenda items to.
So here is my date and location proposal:
Date: Sunday, April 22, 2007
Time: 10:00am to 4:00pm
Location: College of DuPage (Room SRC 1544)
425 Fawell Blvd.
Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
Why this time and location? Easy, I already have the
room reserved for the
College of DuPage Linux Users Group meeting. The room is
big, free, and has
projector. Location is the western burbs. Also the
reason for this time and
date besides it already being reserved, it is about the
only open time I will
have towards the end of April until sometime after the
summer.
Is this good for people? If it isn't, then you need to
come up with a location
and place that is sometime close. It can't be that
weekend though due to the
meeting and me being Vice-Prez of that group. If I don't
have any objections,
or if the 'nays' are less than the 'yays' I am setting
this in stone by this
Sunday.
