Mike,

Man I sure hope you make it. The team misses you for sure, and definitely
needs your help. Once you get everything situated, let me know and I can fill
you in on anything you need. There have been quite a few members step up big
time and help out. Without them, none of this would be possible. I am going
to use nick's that I know so here they are:
 * Mr_HeNtAi - this guy is non stop Ubuntu Chicago. He has already contacted a
local computer show organization, which announced they are on hold for the
time being. He also printed a poster for the meeting, which I cannot wait to
see.
 * Brian Green - he was a big force in setting up the first meeting. He seems
a little idle right now, so I think we can come up with some stuff at the
meeting for him to do. He knows what he is doing and is willing to do some
leading.
 * Red_Herring - It is his fault we are doing the meeting in Elmhurst, but
hey, we have to accomodate everyone on the team somehow. He is our high
schooler that is spreading Ubuntu to the younger generation.
 * admiram_ProFTW - He has come up with a few ideas, plus he is a 'Linux type
of guy'. He is another one that can help us do some spreading of Ubuntu big
time.
 * Max Leubbe - I probably just butchered his name, but he was also involved
in getting the meeting going. He has his act together and could very easily
lead a project or two in the future.

I think at this meeting, getting a feel for everyone is a must. I think
everything should be run just like every other Ubuntu team. Everyone is a
member, and a leader in their own way. If you have an idea, run with it, if
you are unsure ask for some input. If we get to the point where we need
leadership and structure, then we can do it democracy style (read my
signature on that one). So with this mailing list, we are all a team contact
now. If there are things that need to be brought up to the Ubuntu community,
let me know and I can do that. I have worked pretty hard to get a voice that
will stand in the community and so far I have been pretty lucky.

With a great group of guys, all with one goal and may objectives, I am
positive Ubuntu Chicago will flourish. It is a little slow right now, and I
apologize if I was at all pushy at any times, I was just eager to see this
come about. Mike, I can't thank you enough for creating the team. If it
wasn't for you, none of us would be meeting, and Ubuntu would be lacking in
Chicago.

I will be bringing a box of CDs to the meeting. So everyone can get a few x86
DesktopCDs as well as a few 64bit CDs. If you are good at making a business
card using Scribus, OpenOffice.org, or Inkscape, go ahead and do so. It would
be nice to include a flyer and a business card with each CD that we hand out.

I have 100 Kubuntu CDs on the way. I just ordered 100 Edubuntu CDs so I am
awaiting approval on those. Oh, I have Ubuntu stickers for us to, so we can
hand them out, or stick them where ever you want. I know I am going to tag
the drive throughs, just like our bands used to do in the 80's and 90's to
get people interested ;)

Anything any of you can add, feel free to do it. Use the Ubuntu Chicago name,
because you are Ubuntu Chicago. Thanks everyone!!!
