Checking logs would be a good answer. You can use Log File Viewer and try
and things like Error or Warning in syslog (or, 'rror' or 'arning' - comes
in useful more often than you might think) but if it's an abrupt failure
being caused by something in BIOS or hardware it is less likely to log. If
there were any example logs in the forums you're looking in you could
search for those as well.
It does sound like a BIOS issue more than anything as it's going to be in
something like the suspend or hibernate process and that it's not
"TBA are particularly glib
