It's because you changed your password from the command line. If you change
it in User Accounts both passwords are changed.
Start Passwords and Keys
Right click on Passwords: login
Select Change Password
Enter your old password and then the new passwoird.
If you've forgotten the old password, from a terminal, cd .gnome2/keyrings
and rename login.keyring. You can than create a new keyring and import the
old one.
