Roy - I have a workshop worked out with materials and handouts and I'm
happy for other people to use it. It's aimed at non-technical people who
want to use Ubuntu in voluntary sector and social enterprises and it
covers some of the social responsibility reasons for using FOSS,
installing Ubuntu, tour of the desktop, some GUI system administration
basics and an overview of the migration process. It uses non-technical
language and people say it's actually fun - it would also work pretty
much as-is for the whole range of small businesses ;)

If it could be useful to Ubuntu-UK people who want to do something
similar in their areas, I could turn it into a re-usable 'package'
available on our website that people can download, adapt and use to put
on local events for non-techies?

You just need a projector and screen (or you could use a decent-sized
LCD flatscreen) - people can bring stuff to install (we provide laptops
but I don't think that's vital and people also bring their own stuff).
They follow step-by-step on the screen and do the actions themselves on
their own laptops/PCs.
