Hello John,
The error suggests you have installed chromium locally. Perhaps something
did not quite go right with the install or you have a buggy version
installed in /opt/google/chrome
I prefer to use chromium from the personal package archive
https://launchpad.net/~chromium-daily/+archive/ppa<https://launchpad.net/%7Echromium-daily/+archive/ppa>.
Try install chromium from the ppa and remove the local copy (or take it out
of your command path).
I have been able to run sites such as the bbc iplayer without any problems
using the ppa repository. I dont update every day though.
