Well, I just took a leap, and ran sudo aptitude update and the 
duplicates were on there too, and at the end it gave the same message, 
run apt-get update to resolve problem, but that doesnt work.

Does anybody else have any ideas?

Thank you Harry for your help though, I really appreciate it I have 
learnt a few things since doing this which is always good. Even though 
this has happened and I still cant play flash videos/Youtube Vids on here.
