Atheros cards need a wifi driver installing, because they don't have=20
the
right ones by default. My fix for this was to *do sudo apt-get=20
install
linux-backports-modules-intrepid-generic* while connected to the=20
internet
through a wire, or install off the Intrepid CD, which got her=20
Atheros
wireless card running straight away.

Hope that might be of some use to you!
