In that case, if you can't or don't want to install off the CD, try
Kerri. It seems to be just what you're looking for, a program that
allows you to download packages and their dependencies on another
computer, and transfer them via a USB Stick. I haven't personally used
it, and I don't know if it supports meta-packages, but it received a
good review in Linux Journal (a Linux Magazine I read.)
