thi sis th esecond yare we have held sfd in th eshopping mall. The 
location begs for more upfront retail push techniques. One hting we 
did which I think made a good difference was to walf around th ewhole 
area and also outside in the town, with a sign on a short stick saying

Get your free CDs Now!
Software Freedom Day.

Note: the mantra get 'your free CDs NOW!' seems to be a very effective 
attention capture mechanism...... The philosophy comes later.

The sign could be held a meter above head level, and the stick had two 
SFD balloons hanging from it. The holder wore the bright orange SFD 
Tee shirt. All very visible    :-)   and it certainly had a lot of 
people looking at it.  It took a bit of brass neck to do but was well 
worth it.
