[ubuntu-uk] command line converting vid files

All points made here made by all have been duly noted.
As previously mentioned i have only posted when something has been unclear
to me and ive only needed a nudge in the right direction. Sometimes we dont
have the time to sit and go through the vast interweb in search for an
answer...and someone can answer it and all that time is not wasted!

In any case i will excuse from future postings and ask somewhere else!

Everyones patience and help has been much appreciated!
