It's an AMD 790FX chipset (the new AMD chipset for AM2+ CPU's).

I'll have a look in the kernel logs.  I'm also going to give Hardy Alpha
6 a try (can't be much worse!).

Times like this I just feel like downgrading to Vista!!!*
