That shouldn't be the case, it doesn't matter what access point it is
they are all compatible, but the device itself may not have been
working properly... It may have crashed when trying to send a dhcp out
or something. Sounds odd though, but sometimes my ubuntu has a funny
wireless day, and a system reboot and a router reboot seems to clean
it up a little.
