I use backup manager which is super easy to configure. I just install the
package and it prompts me for where I want to save the backups to, in my
case that's /media/drobo/backups which is my drobo shared out over samba. I
then edit /etc/backup-manager.conf and make one change:-
export BM_ARCHIVE_METHOD="tarball-incremental"
instead of "tarball" so that I get a full backup (of /etc and /home) every
weekend and then incremental ones on the other days of the week.
Works for me.
Cheers,
Al.
