[ubuntu-uk] Media Centre Remote

[STONE COLD]

Hi,
 
As some of you may or may not know i recently built a media centre..it came with software, something called Imedia ...This was for windows..
 
Now im wondering how can i use my remote in ubuntu. does it even recognise the remote...? can i control something like VLC with this remote? where do i start?
