dit /boot/grub/menu.lst as root and look for the line with the keyword
'howmany'. Uncomment this line and set the number to be the number of
kernels you want to keep. I usually set this to 4. Then run update-grub
as root and you will be left with 4 kernels in your menu. And it will
stay that way even after a kernel upgrade.
