[ubuntu-uk] usbnet -- dapper/edgy

Hi all,

I have one of those USB male/male cables, to connect two computers
directly via usb.

I've been trying to bring up a usb0 interface in both computers, one
with dapper, the other with edgy, to no avail.

Has anyone succeeded in this?

I edited my /etc/network/interfaces to include:

allow-hotplug usb0
mapping hotplug
       script grep
       map usb0

iface usb0 inet static
      address 172.16.12.1
      netmask 255.255.255.0
      broadcast 172.16.12.255

And I can do a sudo modprobe usbnet, but no usb0 interface appears...
