Sorry if I seem a bit dim, but I am getting on a bit.

I've recently installed broadband using a desktop PC and a laptop which
are wirelessly connected connected to my router.  I have a separate
machine running Ubuntu without a wireless card and so that is connected
to the router via an ethernet cable.

The first time I tried, I was able to access both the Windows machines
from Ubuntu once I had installed Samba.  Since then, however, when I try
to access the Windows network I am asked for a password (which I have
never set).  My usual Ubuntu login password is not accepted.

I would be obliged if someone could tell me how to proceed.
