Mambo and Joomla are pretty much the same thing at present... they have 
forked, but they are the same basic "product".

I would personally favour Joomla as that seems to be the one that is 
having the most attention paid to it, hence I'd think it may well be the 
one with the brighter future...

Drupal is apparently a very powerful CMS but, I think, needs a bit more 
effort at the start.  Joomla comes very much "out of the box"...
