That would be really useful, thanks.

In short: http://gmane.org/subscribe.php

I'd suggest giving the list the newsgroup name:
gmane.linux.ubuntu.user.uk
(or possibly gmane.linux.ubuntu.user.british)

to match the other Ubuntu user groups carried by gmane.

I'd also recommend setting the "Encrypt addresses" flag to provide
greater privacy protection (although the other Ubuntu groups don't seem
to do this).

(Being mindful of the discussions about gmane on EdLUG, I should at this
point flag up the fact that gmane archives the list and makes it
available as a newsgroup via its own newsgroup server. However, in
fairness, the Ubuntu lists are already publicly archived by Ubuntu
itself.)

Ah, it must just have been quiet over the past few days ;-)

Ordinarily, I can never make the 1st Thursday of the month as I always
have another meeting that evening, but I think I will make an exception
on this occasion.

Can I take this opportunity to thank you (and the rest of the team) for
your work on Kubuntu, which I am indeed using right now, and please make
sure you tap me for a beer at EdLUG in gratitude ;-)

Cheers,

David.
