That's how Gettext works and not the fault of Launchpad per se - any
change in the source string will break the string. Launchpad can't
handle fuzzy strings though.

Scottish Gaelic in this case, but as Yuri said, there are quite a lot of
languages that handle plural forms differntly from English.

How do you plan to do that properly for languages that you don't speak?
Better leave that to the translators, even if it's more work for them ;)
