UI freeze exception request for 2 Ubuntu One packages

Hi :)
Ok, so the next step on this page
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam

Is to have a look at your team's page
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-rw
Add some brief information on the team's page. This should include:
 *  A welcome note with the purpose of the team
 *  A note on how to join the team
 *  Links to the team's existing communication channels (e.g. mailing list, forums, IRC channel, wiki, etc)

Errr, that last one seems a bit crazy when there is only 1 of you so far but it helps to have the infrastructure ready for other people to get in contact and for other people if/when they start joining the team.

"If you wish to do so, you can request the creation of an official Ubuntu mailing list for your translation team by sending an e-mail to rt at ubuntu.com  The name of the list should match the name of the team in Launchpad (ubuntu-l10n-rw). "

So that is the next 2 steps for you.
1.  Make your team's page more friendly so that people can join
2.  Set-up an official mailing list by emailing rt at ubuntu.com to request the creation of the mailing list.

Regards from
Tom :)

There is no problem. Actually I filled the form before and I was wondering whether this will not create a duplication (see on the attachment the page given after filling in the form). See the link: https://launchpad.net/~emmahab

Hi :)

Since the next step is "simply" to fill in this form
https://launchpad.net/people/+newteam

I am tempted to fill in the form myself, setting the subscription policy to "Open".  Hopefully that might help me see where the problem is with that step.

I have never done this before so i don't know what to look for.  Of course i have concerns about ending up as some sort of moderator of a system i have no idea about in a language i don't know (i'm English and a monoglot).  However i notice the form asks for an email address so i could write in Emmanuel's and hopefully that might avoid some of my worries!

Is it a really bad idea for me to try this approach?

Tom :)

Dear David,
I appreciated you syupport to get me able to have Ubuntu interface in my mother tongue (Kinyarwanda). However, I am still stack. Maybe because of a little knowledge of the current launchpad platform or new policy even though I have followed your instrcuction. Looking at the conditions I work in, with very slow internet connection in the country, my efforts have been futule. Maybe I have to wait for others to initiate a workeable team.

Hi,

When am I going to be allowed to translate? Whenever I login to the

launchpad, I am asked to contact coordinators. I requested to create a

team for my language and there is no answer. And this for a very long

time. I am confused and do not know what to do.

Hi Emmanuel,

We'll need some more information to be able to help. In particular:

* What's your language and where is the request you filed to create a team?

* Did you follow the steps on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam, as pointed to in the Launchpad page?

Regards,

David.

Regards,
