The upload of translations from the Karmic versions to the trunk
branches of projects is a manual process the project maintainers must
do. In practice, though, I've found out that this step doesn't always
happen, it depends on the project.

What I personally tend to do is to translate upstream first, so that
translations flow to the distro. Then I check that translations did make
it to the distro and see if there are any new ones, which I translate
there. Then I go to the project's trunk again and see if these new
strings are there. If they are, the distro's translations will appear as
global suggestions, which I will simply have to click to accept. In
summary, as a translator I try to keep the translations manually sync.

In your case, if you've been translating in the distro, I'd recommend to
import those translations to the projects' trunk branches as well.

Regards,
David.
