I have this problem as well, once in a while someone will try to get me
to add him/her/it as a friend on yahoo, I get the friend request fine
however if I click "Deny" it does not work and the next time I log in I
will get that same request. I have not tried the "Accept" button yet
since most accounts that try to friend me are just spam bots. Using
Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 2

I have to log into the yahoo web messenger in order to actually deny a
friend request.
